Have you ever driven by a Starbucks with your Trimble 802.11-enabled outdoor rugged device and noticed that you get an alert "Select network to connect to"? This feature of our products can be a blessing and a curse. When you are looking for a network to connect to, the feature is great. However, when you only want

 to connect to one network, it can be a real annoyance.

 

If you are using the recently released Recon X with Windows Mobile 6, the Wireless Access feature eliminates the frustration of wireless LAN pop-ups. Browse to Start a Programs and look for Wireless Access at the bottom of the list. Enter the names of the networks you want to connect to and turn network filtering on. You will no longer see the irritating pop-up messages, but you will still be able to connect to your preferred network.
