Need to communicate in real time? One of the most commonly overlooked features of Yuma, the ExpressCard slot offers real-time wireless capabilities when outfitted with a WAN Express Card.*
Let's say a farmer is out in the field and his tractor breaks down. His foreman knows this machine like the back of his hand. Unfortunately, he's back at the shop.
With a Yuma in hand, problem solved. Using the 3G ExpressCard/34 slot and the dual front/back video cameras that come standard on Yuma, the farmer can point the front camera at the tractor and
show the problem to his foreman back at the shop. The foreman, in turn, can simultaneously show the farmer how to fix it, and the image of the foreman will appear on the 7-inch sunlight-readable color touchscreen display. In addition to allowing two-way video connections, the ExpressCard slot makes it easy to access e-mail and the Internet, allowing the farmer to check wheat stock prices while he’s out in the field.
Skype, a free software program that is easily downloaded from the Internet, can be used to help support two-way video communication, given that both have video capabilities.
*Available through many wireless carriers, ExpressCards are available in a standard size, but their exterior shape often varies. When purchasing, be sure to look for one that will be a good fit for the ExpressCard/34 slot cap, which maintains Yuma's IP67 rating, and protects information in almost any rugged condition.
