Turn your cell phone into a modem for anywhere Internet access

One of the most common questions we hear in Tech Support is “How can I e-mail my data from the field back to the office?” If you have a Web-enabled Bluetooth cell phone, and if your Recon or Ranger is also equipped with Bluetooth, then you may be able to use your cell phone as a modem to connect your handheld to the Internet. You do not need to install any extra software on your handheld; the Windows Mobile 5 operating system includes
everything you need. Once your Ranger or Recon is connected to the Internet, you can use the e-mail program Messaging; which is also built into Windows Mobile 5 to send and receive e-mails with file attachments. Windows Mobile 5 also includes a Web browser, Internet Explorer Mobile.

If you connect to the Internet using a Bluetooth cell phone, you can use it to browse the Internet much as you do on your desktop or laptop PC. Internet Explorer Mobile is a much smaller version of the Internet Explorer that's on your PC, and it does not include as many features. This has some advantages you won't see any pop-up windows! But be aware that some Web sites may not be fully functional when viewed in Internet Explorer Mobile.
