Disk Configuration 11 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Is there a way to order a Yuma with one partition instead of 2? I need all the space I can get and do not want to use the SDIO slot for a card if I can help it.

Re:Disk Configuration 10 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Hi Brad,

As far as I know, unfortunately not... All of the disks are pre-formatted and partitioned into 3 parts in the factory: C, D and a hidden partition. C is for system and D is for data. I think that you cannot extend the system partition in Vista too, but I don't have any experience with that. Maybe you can try with a 3rd-party software, but I really don't recommend it, as well as revealing and using the hidden one (that's for recovering Vista)... If you do and you experience some malfunction, you cannot recover the system, so you have to send the device back to your authorised service centre for recovery. And you have to pay for it, because the warranty doesn't cover it!!! So you decide, but personally I really recommend using an SD card instead of "hacking" the partitions...

Hope this helps,

Zoltan

We have started shipping Yuma tablet with just one partition plus the hidden partition. We also made improvements in the total available hard drive space.

Re:Disk Configuration 1 Week ago
I just did the following on a Vista Yuma before I upgraded to Windows 7. Use diskpart from the command prompt to make the restore partition visible. Copy/Burn/Backup all the contents on the partion for future use. Remove the partion using disk management then combine the c: drive with the unallocated disk space using Easeus Partition Manager (free).

Follow this: uncoveryourrecoverypartition.blogspot.com/

Use this:
www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm

You will gain 4.4GB of disk space. Trimble should have just supplied everyone with restore disks so we could have more disk space.

THIS WILL PROBABLY VOID YOUR WARRANTY. USE AT OWN RISK.

(it's worth it!!)

Re:Disk Configuration 6 Days, 21 Hours ago
Great idea. My Yuma is past the born on date and is not under extended maintenance anyways. Whe I received the upgrade to Win7 I thought I could get is done but, I have an early build and need to send it in. Not happening. I can do an in-place upgrade with a USB bootable drive but that's about it.

I wish they did not lock this machine up so tightly. It is a PC not a datalogger.
