Firefighters use the Recon to get ready
Firefighting emergency preparedness requires significant planning. In this video, the Sisters, Oregon Fire Department explains one component of their fire preplanning. They rely on the Recon handheld computer running Alsea Geospatial, Mobile Risk Assessment software to prepare them to best defend property in 200 square miles of rugged, rural terrain which is often threatened by wild land fires. In just six weeks, Sisters Fire Department personnel (and their Recons) were able to assess all the structures in their district, then download the data to the PC at the office for complete reporting, mapping and other urban interface criteria they needed for preplanning. Now, when a fire starts, they can quickly assess their best plan of action for triage and IA on the situation.
